Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Mark Stone

That's an outrageous first line.

And then you have Pasternak on the second line. Look out.

It's likely the second first round pick is conditional similar to the Duchene trade, I would guess?

If they really want Mark Stone. Just wait until the off-season and make your pitch. Doesn't make sense to sell the farm to hopefully sign him to a crazy contract.

I’d love for Sweeney to make a big move too, but if it’s true that the Sens are price gouging him, what is he supposed to do?? People are already pissing themselves because of Donato you think they’re gonna be happy if he trades Studnicka or Vaakanainen? Do you think that’s really good for the organization?

I think you are right. As much as I would love for Bos to get Stone it just doesn’t make any sense.
The only way it makes sense is if you can resign the player. But I really don’t see that happening because Bos won’t pay anyone more than Bergeron/Marchand/Pasta. Those guys are all on hometown discounts and I just don’t see them paying someone 8 mil + a season.

So you think Sweeney went into those Tavares meetings, where Boston was in the final 5, offering 7 million?

I don't think so...

Tavares and Stone are not equals..

But yes if they want to splash in free agency. The player will most likely be making more than Patrice/Marchand.

I never said they were equals. It's a moot point when this is the quote I was referencing:

"But I really don’t see that happening because Bos won’t pay anyone more than Bergeron/Marchand/Pasta."

Tavares is anyone and I'm sure they offered him more than 7 million.
